Which seems to suggest that apprehension re any upcoming movie lies in the
fear that it won't come up to scratch, whether in terms of character,
background, continuity, whatever - ie; q-sort independent.

I think my favourite would be from Stardrive

This made me laugh when I first read it on the back of the box.

Just thinking of other plays the B7 characters could be compared to -
Blake and Othello - because Othello's ability to trust the right people
is destroyed by his enemy and he also chooses a very bad time to believe
he can trust one person no matter what (although other similiarities
between Iago and Avon are limited).
Servalan and Macbeth - I'm sure she's murdered an elderly man while he
was staying with her and framed his son at some time in her career. Don't
know how she feels about witches.
Blake and Richard II - face it, Richard exhausts the ability of those who
should be his loyal followers to follow him - and doesn't realize it till
too late.
Avon and Lear - besides the fact that they both lose it, Lear doesn't
realize Cordelia was the one he could trust till things have gone too far
and Cordelia dies, resulting in Lear's death in the bleakest ending in
just about any play in British history. Avon doesn't realize Blake
hadn't betrayed them till to late, resulting in Blake's death and one of
the bleakest endings in SF history.
Edmund and Dayna - somewhat on the homicidal maniac side sorts whose
blind fathers die tragically. Also, each seems to have a mellower
sibling.
And, not that it's Shakespeare, but -
Blake and Odin - because he had to lose that eye somehow, but if he
thought it was at the well of wisdom, he should really get his money
back.
