I remember seeing it when I lived in the UK... which character was he?
There was quite a lot of apprehension about showing it in the States... the
exec's didnt know whether the viewers were ready for this sort of TV! C4 is
pretty liberated compared to the North American TV stations.

B7) introduced me to the joy of one square of Galaxy Caramel chocolate eaten in
the same mouthful as 3 Space Invaders pickled-onion flavour crisps. This also
works with Monster Munch, but not as well.

I would think they would need a shift system for manning the flight deck.
Remember how exhausted the crew got after running the ship on their own.
There should be teams... all they could manage was one person manning the
flight controls while the others slept. Not really the best way to
proceed - if anything happens all the crew have to come running.

Hmmm. May have to rewatch Trial and actually *listen* to what comes out of her
lovely mouth, but I never really saw her as a ditz - partly because I still
can't work out what exactly is going on in Trial (too much intrigue pour moi).
I find her fascinating as a kind of female Travis/Par character (the only
female spear-carrier we get, I think?) which really gives a lot of edge to her
interactions with Servalan for me. (line from fanfic-in-progress: "Thania had
major Servalan crush - recognized ailment in Space Command")
More humour would probably come when she reached the Liberator from her
interaction with Blake, who doesn't like Federation lawyers much.

computer. I feel a game of spot the difference coming on !!
What to do if Blake actually wins is a very tricky question. Blake needs to
convince himself that what he is trying to overthrow is SOOOOO bad that
replacing it with something would actually result in change for the better.
Perhaps it was a cultural thing. Self rule over central rule. Free trade
over managed distribution. Entrepenuership over regulation. Small armies
beating each other up over large armies beating the people up.
But I'm not going to give away to many things until I finish this whole
"Evil Federation ?" thing.

Did you see the second season? because that's the bit where it becomes clear
that the Liberator Needs Stuart Jones, and I don't want to spoil it in case you
get the chance to see it... I think I can say that he ends up as a bit of a
freedom fighter himself, in a way.
Stuart Jones is the curly-haired one (of course), the old promiscuous one that
the Dr Who fan (Vince) is in love with but never gets anywhere with, & who
sleeps with Nathan (the schoolboy) in the first episode.
I am surprised it made it to the States, to be honest, particularly after what
happened to "Ellen". How was it received?

First time I saw "Gambit," I really, really, thought he would for a minute
there. I mean, it is the sort of twisted thing B7 might do, since one's
never sure who's the hero and who's the villain at any given time, and
Travis had been getting steadily more sympathetic for some time.
Mind you, I wondered if Kasabi's daughter was going to join for a minute
there, on the grounds that if they were going to replace Gan, it would have
been fairly shortly after he died. Small mercies, I suppose.

I'm not sure if it *would* have meant an awful lot. I mean, his initial
recruitment pick included a smuggler (and exactly *what* was she smuggling?
Guns? Drugs? Pornography?), a petty thief, a large-scale thief, at least one
convicted murderer, and a professional terrorist. Later, Avon adds to that a
traitor and ex-mercenary, a non-ex mercenary, and a young woman whose main
hobby seems to be constructing explosive devices (Dayna as Ace
avant-la-lettre? Discuss).
Any resistance movement tends to attract people who are not terribly
savoury, just cos they're the ones with the skills to do that sort of thing.
Look at Ireland.
But to address the question in another way, I think Blake as a resistance
leader was well finished before Gauda. I think the business with Deva was,
well, "Death throes, nothing more" (to use a possibly inappropriate
quotation).

Regulars: Servalan, Jenna and Cally in that order. Others: I do like Kasabi,
and I like Levett (yes, me too-- as to why, it's cos she takes no s*** from
anyone; I love the way she puts down what's-his-name at the
beginning);Thania (I called her a ditz earlier and I stand by that, but I
still like the character. Other than Servalan, she's the only top-brass
female officer we see). I like Piri but only once she stops being Piri. Also
Rashel, and the Clonemaster.
Women we hate: Inga, Sara, and that silly bird in "Power" whose name doesn't
leap to mind (e-mailing at work, shamelessly). And Piri while she's being
Piri.

Ahh, I know the one. Well... its been a while since I've seen the show, but
I remember which one your talking about.

I'm not sure, to be honest. Living in Canada, we get a lot of the US
networks and independant shows... so get all the hype before hand. But
little of the reaction afterwards. I remember the station was definatly
concerned about the schoolboy part.

Difficult one. I tend to watch City the most I think, mainly cos of the
obvious, its a big Vila episode. After that... probably Terminal. I enjoy

Helen & Gnog on one side of the issue, Murray on the other:
I agree with H&G that Liberator should have had a larger
crew--there are damn few missions that can be effectively
carried out with only six, much less with five, people--I
particularly like the "Hostage" effect--"Gee, they must be
in trouble, let's go down and see"--sort of like dropping all
the cutlery in the kitchen down the sink in an effort to fish
something out of the drain.
Since they all had to sleep sometimes (and most of them
eight hours a night) there should have been at least two or
three shifts of seven people--one to stand watch, one to
monitor the teleport, three to make planetfall directly into
a bunch of guys with guns, and two to sneak up behind
G w/g and rescue the other two.

But when she's not being Piri she delivers the quite *awful* line: 'Oh Avon,
and I thought you were supposed to be the cwever one.' Yukkety yuk. She
really is absolutely the worst actor on the whole of B7. And I'm including
the bloke in 'Warlord' who says, 'But words are only... words!'

5. 'Sarcophagus': it's what started it all in 1980. That scene with Cally

4. 'Deathwatch': 'Teal Star, Teal Star...' Everybody does something *and in
character*!!!
3. 'City at the Edge of the World': because Michael Keating is dead good
throughout and very funny indeed. And: '"Babe," she said... She used to call

2. 'Rumours of Death': say what you like, hard-hearted ones, it's magic.

1. 'Blake': the utter utter king of rock and roll. Oh no, that was John

My brother also, though he doesn't remember doing so, had the idea that I
should watch B7. No interesting food ideas have sprung from him, unless you
count the fact that it is possible to smell chocolate several rooms away,
even when heavily disguised (I don't know what he keeps up those nostrils
that does it).

My first reaction was "No way, Jose!"...but then I think about "Hostage"
and how unbelievably open (considering the circumstances) Blake seemed to
the concept of co-operating with Travis. If Travis had actually been
prepared to negotiate at that point (I think he was just jerking Blake's
chain), I can see Blake taking Travis onboard. Sure Travis has killed scads
of Blake's personal friends and acquaintances in addition to oodles of
strangers -- but Blake remembers being brainwashed, remembers the nasty
stuff he did on the Federation's behalf while under their influence. Maybe
he'd have given Travis the benefit of the doubt (I'm not saying *I* think
that would be a wise choice, I'm just saying maybe he would). Certainly it
would be a swell PR coup if nothing else.
By "Gambit"...you know I still can't say absolutely for certain it could
never happen.

Let me put my vote in for a living Ensor too. In fact, I'd rather have
Ensor than Orac. Imagine Ensor down in a lab in the bowels of the ship,

I tried the new Randall and Hopkirk, and couldn't really see the point -
severe absence of Mike Pratt (Deceased) - but I have been reading Ariana's
crossover with pleasure, especially the punchline in Part IV.
We have had fiction here, and I now can't quite remember whether the Flat
Robin ever finished? Probably it did, I just don't remember exactly how.

Oh, and it suddenly occurs to me that following it through logically, the
phrase "of Travises" should be rendered "Travibus." Hmmm..."
This got me thinking about the existance of more Travises/Travii/ Traves.
If 'da man' had somehow survived 'Star One', I wonder if they would have
gotten a new actor, who it'd have been, and where the character would have
gone from there? Of course, he'd have to change again from S3 to S4, but by
then he may have been revealed as a Time Lord.
