Now, me, I honestly don't find it remotely plausible... But I love it,
anyway. :)

The following is from Horizon:

Gareth's Sherlock Holmes episode, The Naval Treaty will be repeated on Granada
Plus (3 showings) on 25th October. He's got a good part in that one and it's
almost worth watching just for the amazing facial fuzz!

Carlton Video have just reissued Gareth's episode of Hammer House of Horror
(Visitor from the Grave) - also well worth watching. Don't let anyone tell you
the plot twists in advance. They've also reissued Brian Croucher's episode of
Hammer House of Horror (The House That Bled to Death), but it's on a different
tape...

You can see Glynnis Barber in the premier of the film 'The Fairy King of Ar' on
Sky Premier on 24th October, and on Sky Premier 2 on 27 October. You can also
see her in repeats of Dempsey & Makepeace on Granada Plus.

Michael Keating's episode of 'Casualty' is on Sat. 4th November

Remember a few weeks ago Neil told us about the
BFI poll and how the vote had now been thrown
open to the public?

Spiff! I suppose it's too much to hope that this increases the chance of
our getting some region _1_ DVDs?

Sorry, I don't get what you mean.

Personally I found the Logic of Empire rather disappointing but that may
have been due to my too high expectations because of all the praising
reviews I'd read. Also I found it very irritating that the question of how
Avon survived GP wasn't revealed and I had to buy a back issue of the
Horizon newsletter for that.

Does anyone know whether Paul Darrow's episode, the Guardian of the Abyss,

Hey cool! I would guess a lot of the votes came from people on this list.
Enough to push B7 above Doctor Who.

Aga - the kitchen appliance which combines maximum danger and discomfort
with minimum convenience. But it does take your dog out.

On the cooking thread - nobody in B7 has a clue, everyone is brought up with
institutional food. Like being at boarding school, or in the army.

If you're going to Cult TV, then please use this weekend to check over your
bookshelves.

I'm on the scrounge for Oxfam. Good condition paperback novels,
hardback and paperback non-fiction of every kind (humour, travel, health, sport,
history, natural history, etc.) are all welcome.

The things that are least useful are out of date reference books (like old
atlases and guide books). These are only useful if they are old enough to
interest historians. We vastly prefer paperback novels to hardback - people
seem to prefer buying fiction that they can pop in a handbag.

Our shop sold 170 books last week, so as you can see, we need a lot of incoming
donations to keep the shelves full.

The money raised helps the world's poorest people to improve their own lives.
This isn't just about handing out help after disasters (though Oxfam specialise
in equipment to provide clean, safe drinking water after emergencies which
greatly reduces the risk of disease) but also about basic education, digging new
wells to save women walking hours every day to fetch water, and providing tools
for people to work with.

If you have books that you'd like to donate, please bring them to either my
stand or the Redemption stand at Cult TV. (My husband's picking me up
afterwards, so there's lots of space in the car.)
