I've found it in a bookshop and wanted to buy it, but it was in bad condition. Is it worth ordering specially? I've got the Sheelagh Wells book (great), and Tony Attwood's program guide (hmmm, better than no program guide), so is this a good one ? Any feedback gratefully appreciated. The top ten were: 1. Millennium Falcon (Star Wars) 2. White Star (Babylon 5) 3. The Liberator (Blake's 7) 4. The Tardis (Dr Who) 5. Shadow ship (Babylon 5) 6. The Enterprise (ST: TOS) 7. The Enterprise D (ST: TNG) 8. Star Destroyers (Star Wars) 9. It set up the scene for the "Blake" episode beautifully, it introduced what I thought was a great character & long overdue love interest in Zeeona. I loved that electricity effect when they clinked their goblets together ! Who needs Industrial Light & Magic ! I wonder what Zukan thought he was doing though. Presumably he was on friendly terms with the reps of all the other planets there, why did he have to go thru the whole charade of pretending to form an alliance, surely he could have just radioed Servalan & said "Hey chief, they're on Xenon, send the fleet". Even if he'd delivered Avon & co. to the feds & lived, all those other warlords would have been after his blood for betraying them. ___________________________________ from Darren r ..... Steve pointed out that the Liberator was the third best spaceship of all time. But, far more exciting (go on - you know you are) is that Cult Times' reader survey for the top 10 cult series of all time gave Blakes 7 second place, beaten only by Babylon 5. Now, to be fair, this was an episode-vote, rather than a series vote, and almost all the B7 voting went to "Blake" (though "Terminal" made a good showing as well). B5's votes were spread around a bit, and as a result they got places 1, 5 and 6. However, still nice to know we're not forgotten. Oh, and with each one they printed a little quote from one of the voters on just why the episode was so good. B7's one was from some bird called Louise Rutter, who wrote "No series better illustrated the flaws in humanity, and the ending made it immortal." Full results: 1: B5: Severed Dreams. 2: B7: Blake. 3: ST:TNG: Best of Both Worlds. 4: DW: The Caves of Androzani. 5: B5: War Without End. 6: B5: Z'ha'dum. 7: ST:DS9: Trials and Tribble-ations. 8: QL: The Leap Back. 9: XF: Memento Mori. 10: DW: The Pyramids of Mars. The next three were Xena and The Avengers, whose votes were spread over a large number of eps, and American Gothic, where the votes were fairly concentrated in Requiem (another final-ep goodie). Good to see the Doctor still going strong, and a suprise (well, to me and Louise) Quantum Leap appearance. However, the voting was counted in a cunning way. Instead of giving 10 points to 1st, down to 1 for 10th, they gave 100 points to 1st and 90 points to 10th, which meant that getting on someone's top-ten list at all was far more important than where they were placed in that list. Sounds good to me, and the results seem to be fairly sensible.
