Oh, only a year ago...

I did consider it, but since AZ was primarily intended as an open forum for
B7 discussion without any of Horizon's silly limitations, and the Lyst was
clearly fulfilling that requirement, there didn't seem to be much point.

Some sad relics of AltaZine's legacy still persist at
http://homepages.tesco.net/~N.Faulkner/blakes7

Nice to know you're still out there, anyway.

You talk a good fight, Faulkner. But you just check the ongoing parameters
of the Bellfriar Flip. Bayban's Rules do funny things... That move to
Zondawl doesn't seem so crafty now, does it?

Meanwhile, your misplaced confidence leaves me cruising along at a gentle
speed and docking for a refit at Space Command Headquarters. D'ya take milk
and sugar, then?

Only if you're good.

A friend is getting rid of a chunk of his Dr Who collection, including:

- PAL videos of large number of stories, those released with the diamond
logo (i.e. some of the older stuff, rather than more recent releases).

- approximately 200 issues of Dr Who Magazine, dating from 1983-1990.

- 8 audio cassettes (The Macra Terror, Genesis of the Daleks/Slipback, Evil
of the Daleks, Paradise of Death, The Ghosts of N-Space, Fury from the Deep,
Power of the Daleks, Tomb of the Cyberman).

If anyone would like more details, please contact me *directly*, rather than
via the list, and I can give more information on what he has/prices etc.

Ob B7: umm, well, Dr Who... B7... same thing, really...?

Here is a thought about the movie.

Consider the power of Federation space ships in Space Fall, consider the
advances made by the time of Animals (boo hiss, I won't mention it again)
and other S4 episodes. In terms of speed, firepower, physical design etc
etc. The rate of change of technology is quite remarkable. I mean, Avon
makes a simple detector shield using bits and bobs from Radio Shack, which
is viewed as a remarkable advance. This is in a time when we have FTL travel
etc.. In the space of 10 years or so, we could have widespread teleport
facilities etc. What a difference to the way society operates. So the
military could be very different, society could be very different,
Everything could be different. Indeed, all that can we can insist is
continuous is the characterisation of the lead characters. (I'm sure you've
covered this all before, but what the heck). Since that was one of the best
bits of the show, I would think having one of the main characters in charge
would be a good thing. No more burgers for Vila.

In search of a new space ship (after the destruction of the Orbiter), and
falling way behind the pack, I set of in a class 2 troop carrier to Caspar.

Careful now, sir. As it's only a minor infraction, you're allowed to move
along.

Darn, I didn't think of that. However, you can gloat all you like,
and I shall smile serenely, because my next move takes advantage of
Communication Rule 7, sub-paragraph 3, regarding Weather Control
Systems: snick! I'm now on Palmero.

Put *that* in your pipe and smoke it.

I've just picked up the latest Fab Films video re-release, and discovered
they're now working on entries for a category we forgot to consider when
Calle and I drew up our list of suitable/silly photos to use if we ever got
control of the distribution rights: the spoiler photo! Headhunter/Assassin
has a picture of Cancer in final gear looming over the captive Avon.

Possible other entries in this section: Dev Tarrant standing over the
bodies of the Varons. Sara waving a gun at her crewmates. Avalon the
android turning nasty, or possibly having her head opened. Travis tearing
off his Shivan bandages. Blake finding the empty amulet round the old
Charl's neck. Leitz embracing Servalan. And guess what in the final
episode!
