COMPUTING SYSTEM SUMMARY

DOMAIN,THE ARCHITECTURE OF THE FUTURE, TODAY

A DEDICATED COMPUTER PER USER

DOMAIN delivers predictable throughput to each user. A
variety of options can be added to tune each DOMAIN Node's
performance to individual needs. And DOMAIN's responsiveness
won't suffer as more users are added to the network.

CONCURRENT PROCESSES, MULTIPLE WINDOWS

Separate windows on DOMAIN's high-resolution, bit-mapped
display provide "virtual terminals" connected to multiple
programs and data. There is no need to wait for one pro-
gram's completion before starting another. This new mode
of concurrent interaction saves precious time in the soft-
ware development and debugging cycle.

A RESOURCE-SHARING, MODULAR NETWORK

DOMAIN's computing power and peripheral resources are expand-
able in stages that are far more affordable than upgrading
a conventional mainframe. Programs and data may be shared
quickly and easily across the network. The network's fault-
tolerant architecture provides high overall system availability.

LARGE-MACHINE FEATURES

Each DOMAIN Node provides a virtual memory operating system,
an extensive command library, and high-level language com-
pilers. Connected DOMAIN Nodes cooperate to provide single,
network-wide directory for easy access to programs, data,
and peripherals.

PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTIVITY SYSTEM

Productivity no longer depends upon an uncontrollable share
of a central mainframe. DOMAIN's user-dedicated Nodes let
programmers optimize the use of their valuable time. Con-
current editing, execution, and online documentation speed
program development. Advanced graphics, coupled with DOMAIN's
other features, streamline large-scale applications develop-
ment and conversion.

HARDWARE FEATURES

Each DOMAIN Computational Node is a dedicated, single-user
unit composed of three main subsystems.
