One song I would put on any tape of pagan etc songs if I were to make
such a tape from my music collection would be "Grey Lady of the Sea"
by Simon LeBon (yes, you did read that right!)

Unfortunately, it isnt exactly widely available. In fact it isnt
really available at all. The song was written whilst he was on the
Round the World Yacht Race, and the yacht was becalmed for several
days. He recorded it, and it was used in a documentary about the race
done by TVS ( now-defunct UK ITV company) I think they may have bought
the rights to the song. The song was released as a limited-edition CD
as a free offer with some brand of shower gel about 5 years ago, from
whence my tape copy, as I did not have a CD player at the time.

If anyone has a copy of this, PLEASE mail me, as my tape copy is
wearing out!

Elfie..

Grey Lady of the Sea
====================

We've whispered out loud
But your breeze doesn't bend
We're lying in the palm of your hand
No land we see, no place to be
The salt of your tears ... has stained to our hearts
There'e no long years can tear us apart
Our futures entwined with your past
Because when we lie awake we'll be thinking of you..

Blow! Grey Lady, blow your ships back home!
Blow! Grey Lady, blow your ships back home!

Bravado is all but gone
And patience is down
You've sped us and you've turned us around
But you won't let us drown
Because when we lie asleep we'll be dreaming of you

Blow! Grey Lady, blow your ships back home!
Blow your ships back
Blow! ( Lady Grey, Lady Grey come blow! )
Grey Lady, blow your ships back home!

So answer us when we call
And say if you think we're wrong
When life is so short we can't stay long
But you'll never be alone
Because one day we'll return and we'll be waiting for you

Blow! Grey Lady, blow your ships back home!
Blow your ships back
Blow! ( Lady Grey, Lady Grey come blow! )
Grey Lady, blow your ships back home!
