That would not be unalike using "yes or no" questions. It would be
best to practice with the pendulum first, when becoming acquainted,
and understand how you're going to work with it. Rather than decide
what motions will represent what answers, concentrate on an answer and
let the pendulum swing the way it will. Start by maintaining a
"neutral" position, by concentrating on the word "neutral," "pause,"
"wait," or anything along those lines. Then focus on "yes." Wait to
see how the pendulum swings, and then repeat to youself, "This is yes,
this is positive, this is yang, this is yes."
Concentrate on "no," let the pendulum follow through as it will, and
then repeat, "This is no, this is negative, this is yin, this is no."
Different people with different pendulums will yield different
results, and it's better to let the pendulum flow to its task in your
hands rather than bend it to your will. If nothing else, it'll help
personalize your divination and give you that much more power, that's
never a bad thing.
I'd highly, highly recommend "The Pendulum Kit," by Sig Lundgren (or
something close to that. Bloody difficult name to recall) as a primer
for beginners in the practice of the pendulum. If there ever was one
systematic way to attack this medium, this would be at least close to
it. It starts out with those simple practices, it STRESSES discipline
and patience, and it leads up to some really remarkable applications!
And someone please correct me if I got my yin and yang screwed up.
